Phil Ray is the Advisory Board Chair for the Indianapolis Chapter. Phil joined White Lodging Services (WLS) in 2010 from Omni Hotels where he served as the general manager of the Omni Severin Hotel, Indianapolis.
Phil is a graduate of Bentley University, Ray joined Marriott International and started his career in finance at Boston Long Wharf, Dallas Fort Worth, Las Colinas Mandalay, Desert Springs Resort, Portland Maine, and Newport Rhode Island. In addition, he served as controller of the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco and director of finance of the Plaza Hotel in New York. He later moved into operations as director of services at the Doral Arrowwood with Omni hotels and then became GM of the Omni Severin where he has been for the last several years.
He was named Omni Hotels GM of the year in 2007, Indiana Hotel Lodging Association GM of the year in 2008, and was also the recipient of the Indianapolis Tourism Leadership Award in 2009. Ray is a former president of the Great Indy Hotel Association and is currently a board member of the Indy Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Indianapolis Chef's Academy.
Senior VP & Credit Officer, BMO Harris Bank
First 14 years of her career were spent as a National Bank Examiner with the Comptroller of the Currency, examining National Banks in Indiana and Chicago. Joined First Indiana Bank in 1999 as their Commercial and Real Estate Credit Manager where she was responsible for managing 12 credit analysts, field auditors, the file vault, the collateral monitoring group and the loan documentation group. In 2007 First Indiana Bank was acquired by M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank where she transitioned from 25 years of credit to the sales side as a Vice President in Commercial Real Estate Lending. In 2010 Bank of Montreal acquired M&I and Beth assumed the role of Credit Officer covering Commercial Real Estate Approvals for the US along with C&I Loans for Indiana and Florida. Her education background includes a Bachelor of Science from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio where she majored in Economics and Finance. She also holds an MBA from Butler University. Beth’s current and past affiliations include the Indianapolis Chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women; Junior Achievement Volunteer; Delta Delta Delta Sorority; Past Board, Executive Committee Member and Treasurer of Indianapolis Youth Hockey Association; Park Tudor School’s Development Committee; and YMCA Youth Soccer Coach. Beth is married to Chuck Amy and they have two children, John (23) and Sam (21). Her hobbies include running, crossfit and gardening.
Vice President of Member Services, Indiana Hospital Association
Cathy Armold is Vice President of Member Services at the Indiana Hospital Association.
In her role, Cathy is responsible for overall management of the association’s corporate and event sponsorship programs and education initiatives. She serves as in-house project liaison and clearinghouse for proposed non-dues revenues initiatives, develops and markets sponsorship opportunities for outside organizations, and develops and executes both live and distance learning opportunities for the association’s members. She is responsible for budget preparation, contract negotiations, continuing education and onsite execution of educational offerings
Cathy has been with IHA since 1976 and has held a number of positions, including the areas of education, finance, public relations and the President's office.
Executive Vice President, Sales and Partnerships, Questar Assessment Inc.
Brad heads Questar Assessment Inc.'s domestic and international sales effort as Executive Vice President, Sales and Partnerships. Prior to joining Questar Brad served as Vice President of Global Sales at ConnectEdu, an online service provider for career and college planning. Before ConnectEdu, he worked as director of business development at Ellucian (formerly SunGard Higher Education), where he helped educational institutions align information technology with academic strategic plans.
When not working, Brad enjoys spending time with his wife Traci and two daughters Katy and Ellie. As an active member of Team Heroes he volunteers his time to help serve the cancer community. Brad also enjoys running and pacing half and full marathons.
Michele E. Cooley
Associate Director for Student Affairs, IU McKinney School of Law
After spending nearly thirteen years as a civil litigator, Michele currently serves as the Associate Director for Student Affairs with the Indiana University McKinney School of Law. She is responsible for developing and implementing programs designed to assist law students in academic achievement and bar exam preparation. She also serves as an academic advisor to law students. She received her business undergraduate degree from the Kelley School of Business and her law degree at the Maurer School of Law, both located at Indiana University Bloomington. She is currently completing an MFA in creative writing at Butler University. She lives in Indianapolis with her husband, toddler son, and two dogs. Michele first became involved with Back on My Feet when she participated in the inaugural 42K Relay (now known as the Marathon Relay) in October of 2011.
Jacqueline Fraher Hacker
Associate Director, Account Management, Young & Laramore Advertising
Jackie was first introduced to Back on My Feet in Chicago as a volunteer and FundRacer for the Chicago Marathon in 2013. From there, life took her to Atlanta where she continued as an active advocate for Back on My Feet, FundRacing for the Boston Marathon and serving as the Atlanta advisory board’s co-chair in 2015. As an avid runner, Jackie was thrilled when she was given the opportunity to stay involved with Back on My Feet after relocating to Indianapolis in late 2016.
Jackie lives in downtown Indianapolis with her husband, 1-year-old daughter and yellow lab. She can often be spotted running along the Cultural Trail, Canal Walk or White River Trail with one or more of her family members!

David is not only a strong advocate for Back on My Feet in the community, he is also the Wheeler Mission Team Leader and runs with the team three days a week. David concentrates his practice in health care, corporate, administrative and regulatory law. He handles regulatory compliance and administrative appeals, contract review and negotiation, business transactions, and general commercial and corporate legal matters for for-profit and nonprofit health care and general business organizations and individuals. Dave went to Boston College Law School, in Newton, Massachusetts.
Sales Performance Coach, Keynote Speaker and NFL Umpire #92, The Blind Zebra
Bryan is the Blind Zebra and founder of Blind Zebra Consulting, his sales and training company based in Indianapolis. A self-proclaimed “deal work junkie,” Bryan has worked with B2B sales teams, managers and CEOs for more than two decades. Bryan began his career at Proctor & Gamble, was a National Sales Manager for a boutique commercial finance firm, and a Partner at Caskey Achievement Strategies for almost 10 years. Bryan grew up in Newburgh, IN. He earned his degree from Indiana University, where he co-founded the IU Dance Marathon in 1991 (now the second largest student-led fundraiser in the United States). Bryan is a self-taught piano player, earned his pilot’s license, and was a winning contestant on The Price is Right. He is the co-host of The Advanced Selling Podcast, the longest running sales training podcast in the world. Of his many accomplishments, Bryan is most proud of his family. Best known as a sales trainer, keynote speaker and proud Dad, Bryan is an official in the National Football League. After 28 years officiating football (including 8 years in the Big Ten), his dream came true in 2014 and you can find him on the football field every Sunday.
Amy joined Accenture in 1998 after completing her BS in Management Information Systems from Indiana State University. She worked in the consulting practice for about 9 years before moving into the Business Process Outsourcing group. She is currently a Support Center Contract Lead within the Delivery Services group where she has spent the past 5 years implementing and running support centers in the finance and procurement space.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and kids. Photography is a hobby of hers which is utilized by capturing the life of their 6 year old twins and their travels through a blog. She also enjoys running with a group of ladies in her neighborhood early in the morning.
Amy joined the Indianapolis board in June 2011 after attending the Indianapolis Chapter launch in March. She was part of the inaugural run and felt really touched by seeing the group join and connect to meet the end goal of running 1 mile.
Associate Attorney, Barnes & Thornburg LLP
Leah is an associate attorney at Barnes & Thornburg LLP, where she is a member of the Litigation Department, focusing her practice on commercial and intellectual property law, representing clients in both trial and appellate courts. Before joining the firm, she served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Mark S. Massa of the Indiana Supreme Court. Prior to becoming an attorney, Leah taught Kindergarten in Phoenix through Teach For America.
Leah has been an enthusiastic runner since middle school and has finally cracked into the double digits of number of marathons completed. She is thrilled to be sharing her passion for running with Back on My Feet members, and feels inspired by the strides they make—on the pavement and in their lives—each day.
Business Analyst, Simon Property Group
Tonya has been an advocate of Back on My Feet Indianapolis since its inception in 2011. Tonya is a Business Analyst in IT at Simon Property Group. Outside of her day job, she spends most of her time volunteering and working on committees for several local not-for-profits. She is also on the Leadership Committee for the ISO’s Young Professional Group; FORTE and serves on the board for Dance Kaleidoscope. Tonya grew up in Marshall, Illinois and attended Indiana State University where earned her Bachelor of Science and MBA. Following college, Tonya spent nearly a decade traveling in various professional positions. In 2010, she decided to stop traveling and stay closer to home. This has allowed her to be closer to family and friends and involved in the community, which is something she loves. Tonya lives in downtown Indy with her dog, Bella. She enjoys live music, local performing arts, foodie events, fundraising, visiting pet-friendly establishments and all things “Indy”. She is also a huge Dave Matthews fan of over 20 years.
Regional Director for Sales and Market Development, Samsung
Jason has been with Samsung Electronics for over 13 years, most recently serving as Regional Director for Sales and Market Development for one of Samsung’s largest wireless partners. Responsible for the Central portion of the U.S. and Puerto Rico, Jason spends a large amount of his time visiting traveling. His travel for Samsung has allowed him to opportunity to become involved in Back on My Feet in the Austin, Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago and Indianapolis as a corporate sponsor as well as the honor of serving on the Advisory Board in his hometown of Indianapolis. Jason stays involved in Back on My Feet events across all his markets, including the fundraising galas and breakfast events and various runs, although his favorite is the Indianapolis chapter's Marathon Relay.
Jason lives in Fishers, IN with his wife of almost 20 years, two sons, and one kayak loving dog. In his spare time he volunteers with the Million Meal Movement, enjoys kayaking/hiking/biking and traveling with his family. In 2017, Jason completed his first half marathon, while FundRacing for Back on My Feet and is looking forward to running 3 more in 2018.
