Progress House

Welcome to our team at Progress House!

Come run with the Back on My Feet Team at Progress House! BoMF works with the great program Progress House in Indianapolis, located at 201 Shelby St.

Facility Information:

Progress House is a 72 bed means facility in greater Indianapolis who has served the Indianapolis community for 50 years.  The men who reside at PGH are predominately homeless men who are in the early stages of recovery from chronic alcoholism and addiction. The men contribute to the house daily and through routine household tasks and paying rent of $150 weekly. Of that $150 another $120 weekly is subsidized by progress house in the context of Income/expense.

The men who come to Progress House are required to find employment and required to be out of the house during job search hours. The men are asked to make a 90 day commitment and many stay past the 90 days as Senior resident who mentor the newer men and have additional responsibilities. Men here are required to attend daily 12-step meetings and all mandatory house meetings. We have zero tolerance for alcohol or drug use , violence or threat of violence. We conduct drug screens and alcohol sensors daily. Offenders of this policy are evicted and cannot reapply for admission for 6 months.
Progress House is a community solution for a myriad of social problems, crime, domestic violence , unemployment, child support etc. Our goal is for the men who suffer from an obsessive /compulsive addiction to maintain the discipline and accountability they must engender to live within the structure here and return to the community as men who are now clean and sober and productive in their lives again.

'We're very excited to work with the staff and members of Progress House, they have an admirable structure and commitment to the Indianapolis community" said BoMF VP of Programming Wylie Belasik.
